Starting from fourth from last on the grid, with Matt Bell and Martyn Lyell far ahead - it was always going to be hard to catch them. Throughout the first couple of laps of the race Phil and Duxbury picked off drivers as they forged through the field into 2nd and 3rd position. Matt Bell was still a way ahead, but didn't have the pace to keep his lead, as Phil and James reeled him in and passed him. Phil led for a couple more laps, as James and Matt battled behind him, then Duxbury broke free and found lightning pace, catching Phil and preparing to overtake. Going into the pit corner Duxbury made a late, savage, move - unachievable in anyone's mind, knocking Phil sideways on to the grass. Phil rejoined the circuit behind both James and Matt, and was lucky to finish on the podium, albeit with a bent kart. In the Motors TV series Phil has won two rounds, but has been leading two other races when he has been knocked off and has also failed to finish 2 rounds. It is fair to say that when he hasn't been knocked off by other drivers, he has won.
